What is the SCRAP-IT Rebate?

The SCRAP-IT rebate is where you can receive up to $6,000 for a new vehicle or up to $3,000 for a used model that you sell us to scrap. Keep in mind that this is a general guideline for our new or used rebate. More models may be added at any time, so be sure to check in with our team to find out which models are currently on the list. 

Does Your Vehicle Qualify for the SCRAP-IT Rebate?

Does your vehicle qualify? Take note that there are a few requirements your vehicle must meet before you can qualify. Here are the requirements for the SCRAP-IT rebates:

• 2001 and older models must have any internal combustion engine (gas/fossil fuel propelled only).
• 2002 or newer models must have a fuel consumption rating of 7.1L/100km (city) or less.
• Any vehicle being considered must have a fuel consumption rating of 7.2L/100km (city) or greater
• Eligible vehicles must be insured a minimum of 6 months prior to be valid.

Keep in mind there are also a few models not eligible for this rebate including:

• Any hybrid vehicle 2002 or newer
• Diesel models
• And a few others

In addition, if your vehicle is eligible, you can receive up to $6,000 (new) for an eligible Scrap It vehicle or up to $3,000 (pre-owned) for an eligible Scrap It vehicle. Also keep in mind that dealers only have a limited amount of these Scrap It vouchers. These are given out early in the year, so you may have a much lower chance of getting this rebate in November.
